It is amazing to me how often we forget the power of choice in our lives. I recently met with an amazing individual who has an addiction to opiates. Her realization that she has the power to choose even when faced with addiction impressed me greatly. How often we forget that we have the power to choose, no matter what our instinct or immediate desire may be.
"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose our response. In those choices lie our growth and our happiness."
